WHY DO WE NEED TO RECYCLE??

Clara Penas has writen a good summary of all the actions we did during all second term During this term in the supplementary English classes, we have been doing a project to learn how important it is to recycle, reuse and reduce pollution. In this essay I’m going to talk about the three R, and the activities we have been doing. First we started talking about concepts related to environment, pollution, recycling... To reach us getting into the subject, and gradually, we were doing more activities, one of which was to make a collage with two images, one doing something wrong or harmful for the environment and another to remedy this "bad action". I personally chose a simple action, leaving a picture with normal batteries that were worn and the other with rechargeable batteries. We also did posters to hang throughout the school, so students could learn about all three Rs. The three R's come from the words: recycle, reduce and reuse, I think the title "three R's" has got much logical, because basically the actions that are needed to care for the environment are the same. Also by the end of year school trip of 4th of ESO, we did a workshop on recycling, which involved making products to sell based on things that we did not use, such as making magnets for the fridge with beer caps or ashtrays with soda cans or bookmarks made with papers that would throw or pin made with water balloons, among others. To sum up, I think that this experience has been so cool, and dynamic and I have enjoyed and learn a lot. I would recommend this activity to all the students.

Our students worked all the second term to convert disposable material in really cute objects. They learnt how to save the planet recycling, reducing and reusing what we throw away and they showed it to a lot of people selling all these objects at the hall of the school on the open door day when a lot of families came to visit our school. Finally, with the sale, they won a lot of money to help them on their trip to Germany.
